The Exotic Cities Of The Far East
Our exotic cruise vacations sail to some of the world's most fascinating places. Many of our guests like to tour on their own. However, because of language or other barriers, making independent arrangements can often be difficult, and waste your valuable time.
Shore excursions are carefully planned and continually monitored for quality control, using the best English-speaking regional guides, transportation, and facilities available. We also feature many different kinds of shore excursions, so guests can explore each destination according to their own individual interests and tastes.
OUR FEATURED DREAM VACATION 21-day Grand Asia Cruisetour
Day 1 -- Beijing, China
Beijing -- China's capital since the early 15th century.
Day 2 -- Bejing
Your full-day tour takes you to Tianamen Square, where an enormous portrait of Chairman Mao gazes sternly from atop the Gate of Heavenly Peace. In the Forbbiden City, the red pillars of the Banquet Hall contrast with the white marble bridges crossing the moats. Giant pandas bring a smile at Beijing's Zoo. Then, visit the Summer Palace, where the powerful Dowager Empress Cixi imprisoned her son.
Day 3 -- Stand atop the Great Wall, created to keep out the barbarian hordes. Begun in 221BC, it zig-zags across China like a giant zipper. On your full-day tour you'll also visit the Ming Tombs where 11 emperors are buried from Dingling to Zaoling.
Day 4 -- Fly to Xi'an, China
Transfer to hotel. After resting up from your flight, spend some time getting to know this ancient city, the seat of 12 imperial capitals over a period of 1,125 years.
Day 5 -- Xi'an, China
At Xi'an, once Asia's largest city and starting point of the Silk Road, discover the tombs of the Terra Cotta Warriors, where an army of stone soldiers have stood ready to fight for their beloved emperor for over 2,000 years. Go back to the Stone Age at the Banpo Museum, where a Neolithic village numbering 6,000 inhabitants has been unearthed.
Day 6 -- Fly to Shanghai, China
Transfer to your hotel in this exotic city.
Day 7 -- Shanghai
During your city tour, you'll visit the Bund, the famous pre-war financial district bordering the Huangpu River, where fortunes were made and lost in a wink. The Yu Yuan Gardens reflect the serenity and beauty of a China past, while the Yu Yan Bazaar offers delightful Oriental shops and delicious snacks. In the Shanghai Museum, see ancient bronzes and other treasures.
Day 8 -- Fly to Hong Kong, China
Though Hong Kong is now part of China, you'll discover the "shopping mecca of the East" has lost none of its appeal.
Day 9 -- Hong Kong
Spectacular Victoria Peak, the bustling Stanley Market with its designer bargains and the always intriguing floating fishing villages of Aberdeen are your destinations on this morning tour, while the afternoon is free for shopping.
Day 10 -- Board the Norwegian Wind in Hong Kong
Enjoy a morning of leisure in this beautiful city -- perhaps poking through the exotic stalls along Nathan Road.
Day 11 -- Cruise South China Sea
Relax, get a massage or shoot some golf balls.
Day 12 -- Da Nang, Vietnam
Visit the great Cham Museum, explore the sacred alters of Marble Mountains or step back in time to "old Asia" in enchanting Hoi An.
Day 13 -- Nha Trand, Vietnam
The 4 mile-long beach looks inviting, but don't miss the towers of Po Nagar.
Day 14 -- Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Although officially renamed in his honor, Uncle Ho wouldn't recognize Saigon where Western entrepreneurialism runs rampant. At the Cu Chi tunnels, you can see where Ho's army lived in a secret underground city during the Vietnam War.
Day 15 -- Cruise Gulf of Thailand
Work off those midnight buffets, relax, and enjoy the spectacular views.
Day 16 -- Ko Chang, Thailand
Enjoy a day at the beach on this beautiful Thai resort island.
Day 17 -- Arrive Laem Chabang and transfer to Bangkok, Thailand
Your city temples tour takes you to some of Bangkok's most treasured shrines, including the Golden Buddha and the massive Reclining Buddha, which stretches about 140 feet from head to toe.
Day 18 -- Bangkok
Bangkok is one of the world's most beguiling cities, where golden spires glisten in the sun and neon lights beckon by night. Ride a long-tail boat through the klongs (canals), where you'll see sampans piled high with produce and gleaming wats around every bend. Optional tours are available at the NCL Hospitality Desk in your hotel.
Day 19 -- Bangkok
Shop for batiks and lusciously colored Thai silks, tour the Grand Palace, where the sacred Emerald Buddha glows like green fire, or just watch the incredible scene on the river as barges and sampans ply the waters of Bangkok's superhighway.
Day 20 -- Fly to Singapore
After settling into your hotel, sign-up for one of the value-packed optional tours at the NCL Hospitality Desk.
Day 21 -- Singapore
