Itinarary

Day 1 -- Darwin and Minjungari

Visit the beautiful Sandy Creek Falls and Wangi Falls of Litchfield National Park. A chance for a refreshing swim as well as exploration of the surrounding monsoon rainforest. The rainforests are home to a wonderful array of birds and reptiles. Camp at Minjungari, an exclusive base camp nestled amongst the eucalyptus forest.

Day 2 -- Manyallaluk

Continue to Adelaide River and Pine Creek on to Manyallaluk, "The Dreaming Place".

Day 3 -- Manyallaluk

Meet with the traditional Aboriginal owners of this area and learn about and experience Aboriginal culture, as you discover bush tucker and bush medicine. In the afternoon, mix with local people as they demonstrate craft skills. You can learn to throw a spear, or play a didgeridoo.

Day 4 -- Katherine-Kakadu

Continue to Nitmiluk National Park and cruise the majestic Katherine Gorge. After, continue to Kakadu and explore the Gunlom Falls area.

Day 5 -- Mardukul

Visit the beautiful Maguk, Barramundi Gorge, then onto Cooinda for a cruise on Yellow Waters to view wildlife.

Day 6 -- Graveside Gorge

Engage 4WD this morning and visit remote Graveside Gorge. A day of walking, exploring, swimming and bird watching in this peaceful wilderness.

Day 7 -- Darwin

Visit Nourlangie Rock and view Aboriginal art sites.

Day 1 -- Depart Los Angeles

Day 2 -- International Dateline

During your 14-hour non-stop flight, you will cross the international Dateline, losing a day which is regained on the return journey.

Day 3 -- Sydney

Arrive Sydney early morning and transfer to your hotel. Sydney is Australia's largest and oldest city, where the first settlers landed in 1788. Colorful streetscapes and elegantly restored buildings house a variety of restaurants, entertainment venues and specialty shops.
Accommodation, 3 nights: Superior - City View Room, Premier - Harbour View Room, Luxury - Junior Harbour View Suite

Day 4 -- Sydney

Enjoy a lunch cruise aboard Magistic's modern catamaran and see Sydney in style! Cruise in air-conditioned comfort as you glide past some of the most wonderful sites. Panoramic windows allow you to enjoy lunch withour missing any of the Harbor sites (L).

Day 5 -- Sydney

Explore Sydney at your leisure.

Day 6 -- Great South Pacific Express

Today, in the early evening, transfer to the station to board the gleaming carriages of the Great South Pacific Express. Settle into your luxurious en suite compartment. Perhaps, enjoy a cocktail in the lounge before dinner is served in the dining car. (D)
Overnight on board. Accommodations, 2 nights: Superior - Pullman Compartment, Premier - State Compartment, Luxury - Commissioners Compartment.

Day 7 -- Great South Pacific Express

Breakfast is served by your steward in your compartment before you disembark for a private visit to a Hunter Valley vineyard and cellar. Soak up the atmosphere and stories of this famous Australian region while tasting some of the vineyard's best wine. The owner of the vineyard will be on hand to explain all the details of viniculture. Lunch at a local restaurnat and time to enjoy the local scenery. Reboard the train for your onward journey and dinner. Overnight on board. (B,L,D)

Day 8 -- Great South Pacific Express -- Cairns

Breakfast and lunch are served on board as the Great South Pacific Express makes its way towards Brisbane. Relax in one of the lounges or on the observation deck and admire the passing scenery of the New South Wales (NSW) northern coast. Cross the border from NSE to Queensland via the spectacular Border Loop range before arriving into Brisbane during the afternoon. (B,L)

Day 9 -- Cairns

Day at liesure in Cairns.

Day 10 -- Great Barrier Reef

This morning, transfer to Cairns wharf and board the Ocean Spirit, a luxury sailing vessel. Sail to Michaelmas Cay, known as the Isle of the Birds, a year round home to thousands of sea birds of some 14 different species. Its spectacular coral reef that thrives in the ideal conditions of clear, shallow, sunlit water is home to a variety marine life including giant clams and brilliant fish. Because Michaelmas Cay is a National Park the fish are so tame you can feed them from the beach. Spend four hours at the reef for a variety of activities.

Day 11 -- Cairns -- USA

Transfer early morning for your flight to Sydney to connect to Los Angeles.

Day 1 -- Depart Los Angeles -- Papeete

Depart Los Angeles for the flight to Tahiti. On arrival you will be met outside customs and transferred to your accommodation for the next three nights. Standard - Sofitel Maeva Beach, Superior - Sheraton Tahiti, Premier - Tahiti Beachcomber Inter-Continental. Day 2 - 3-- Papeete

Whether by land, air or sea, you can learn more about Tahiti through one of the many optional tours offered during your stay. A city tour provides a great overview of Tahiti, with an experienced guide explaining the history of monuments and their modern uses. A Gauguin tour takes you to the botanical gardens to see unique tropical trees and flowers -- ending at the Gauguin Museum for an insight into the life of this famous artist. Otherwise, simply relax and enjoy the facitities at tour hotel!

Day 4 -- Pateete - Moorea

Today, transfer to the dock for the short ferry ride across to Moorea. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your accommodation. Standard - Moorea Village, Superior - Sofitel la Ora, Premier - Moorea Beachcomber Inter-Continental.

Day 5 - 7 -- Moorea

Moorea is a great place to take advantage of a variety of optional tours and activities. Shark, stingray and dolphin feeding are offered, as well as many land activities. A 4WD safari tour takes you to otherwise inaccessible valleys, past waterfalls and on to tropical plantations. Visit ancient sites of sacrifice and worship, and in the evening, perhaps visit the Tiki Village for dinner and performance by the dance troupe.

Day 8 -- Sydney

After a leisurely morning, transfer to the airport for a late flight to Papeete. On arrival make you way to check in for your international flight back to Los Angeles arriving the next morning.
